About The Author: B.M. Dhir is presently Professor and Head of Educational Management Department at Technical Teachers Training Institute (TTTI), Chandigarh and possesses a total professional experience of over 28 years in industry and technical education. He passed B.Sc. (Civil Engineering) from Punjab University in 1961 and M.S. (Civil Engineering) from U.S.A. in 1962. He obtained M.Ed. in Vocational and Technical Education from U.S.A. in 1980. He joined Gammon India Ltd. a leading firm of Construction Engineers and Contractors, in 1963. During his 15 years of service with Gammon India Ltd. from 1963 to 1978, he was responsible (or field investigation, planning and construction of various civil engineering projects such as thermal power plants, industrial structures, runways, major prestressed concrete bridges etc. As a result, he developed a clear perception and valuable insight into the various aspects of construction management He joined the Department of Civil Engineering. TTTI Chandigarh in 1978. During the last 13 years at TTTI, he has been engaged in various programmes and projects of teacher training in civil engineering, educational technology and educational management besides curriculum and instructional material development.
